Why Tyree Real Estate

Trained to Compete. Built to Serve Montana.

Before Burke Tyree ever wrote a listing agreement, he learned what it takes to win the hard way — on a wrestling mat.

Burke grew up in western Montana, in the shadow of the Mission Mountains and across the Flathead Valley, raised by parents who spent their careers in Montana's public schools and who instilled in him a work ethic that doesn't take days off.  That drive carried him into elite wrestling, ranked #1 in the Nation at one point in time, while chasing an Olympic dream that took him from Montana to college programs in Wisconsin and Northern Iowa, to coaching student-athletes at Boise State and Stanford, to living and training at the Olympic Training Center, and to competing around the globe.

Wrestling doesn't reward shortcuts. There's no team to hide behind, no luck to lean on — just preparation, discipline, and the willingness to grind when nobody's watching. Those are the same qualities that separate a great real estate broker from an average one. When the negotiation gets tough, when the deal hits a snag at the eleventh hour, when the market shifts under your feet — you want someone in your corner who has trained for pressure his whole life.

Why That Matters When You Buy or Sell

Preparation wins. Every elite athlete knows the match is won before you step on the mat. Burke brings that same preparation to every listing and every offer — market analysis done right, pricing strategy grounded in data, and no surprises at closing.

We know how things are built. When Burke was home in Montana, he would work with his Dad, on home remolding, new builds, and other handyman construction.  When he walks a property with you, he's not just looking at square footage — he's reading the foundation, the framing, the roof, and what it will actually cost to own. That 360-degree view of construction, financing, and the transaction itself means honest advice you can act on.

We know Montana — really know it. From the Flathead Valley to Eastern Montana, from riverfront properties to working ranch land, this isn't a market we studied.  It's home.  Burke has guided fly fishing trips across the state since 2001 through Go Fish Montana, the outfitting company he founded — and that on-the-ground knowledge shows up when clients want land, water, and access that only a local can evaluate.

Patience and grit, in equal measure. Some deals move fast. Others take months of persistence. Wrestling taught Burke that you don't get to choose which kind of match you draw — you just have to be ready for both. Clients consistently describe the same experience: thoughtful answers to endless questions, steady guidance, and a broker who stays in the fight until the deal is done right.

The Tyree Standard

We built Tyree Real Estate on a simple idea: treat every client's transaction like a championship match — prepare relentlessly, compete honestly, and never coast. Whether you're selling a family home in Whitefish, MT or buying a ranch in Central Montana, or searching for the right stretch of river, you get a team that is deeply committed to this state and to your success.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

Burke Tyree was our listing agent for our recent home sale. I contacted Burke based on a strong recommendation from an out-of-state real estate agent. Frequently Asked Questions

Tyree Real Estate combines three kinds of expertise most brokerages can't offer in one place: 20 years of hands-on building industry experience, 25 years of professional river guiding across Montana through founder Burke Tyree's outfitting company Go Fish Montana (established 2001), and the discipline of an elite athletic career. Clients get honest, informed answers about construction condition, land and water access, and market strategy — not just a showing schedule.

Burke Tyree is a licensed Montana outfitter who has guided fly fishing trips statewide since 2001, including the Missouri River and the waters of western Montana where he grew up. Few brokers can evaluate river access, fishery quality, seasonal water behavior, and recreational value from firsthand professional experience. If a property's real value is its water, Burke has likely floated it.

Tyree Real Estate serves buyers and sellers across Montana, with deep roots in Great Falls, the Flathead Valley, the Mission Valley, and Northwest Montana — including residential homes, riverfront properties, recreational land, and ranch properties.

Elite wrestling — including collegiate competition, coaching at Boise State and Stanford, and training at the Olympic Training Center — builds preparation, patience, and composure under pressure. Those habits show up in pricing strategy, negotiation, and the persistence it takes to close difficult deals. Clients consistently describe thorough answers, steady guidance, and a broker who doesn't coast.

Yes. Before founding Tyree Real Estate, Burke Tyree spent roughly 20 years working in the building industry. That background gives clients a practical read on foundations, framing, roofs, and true cost of ownership — before an offer is ever written.
